Exam Information

The PMP examination is comprised of 180 questions. Of the 180 questions, 5 are considered pretestquestions. Pretest questions do not affect the score and are used in examinations as an effective andlegitimate way to test the validity of future examination questions.

PMP certification exams can now be taken via Center-based testing (CBT) or Online testing (OPT).

The total duration of the exam is 230 minutes.

The candidate can take the exam up to 3 times within one year from their application approval date. If the candidate fails the examination three times within the one-year eligibility period, then they must wait one year from the date of the last examination they took to reapply for the credential. **If your eligibility period expires without you passing the examination, you must reapply for thecertification.

PMP Certification is valid for 3 years from the date certified.
