For the written exam, the candidate must wait for five calendar days, and for the online/ un-proctored Cisco (700-xxx series) exams, the candidate must wait for 48hrs after the failed attempt, before they may apply for the retest for the same exam. Once a candidate passes a particular written exam, he or she may not retake that same exam for at least 180 days

CCNP Service Provider certification is valid for three years. Certified individuals will be able to recertify by completing continuing education activities, taking exams, or a combination of both.

There are no formal prerequisites required for this certification, however the candidate should have a good understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.
